This is how my day was spent. Bits and pieces of each project. None of it finished, either.
My throat is hoarse from this one, and we still have 13 chapters to go.
Fire on the Mountain, Sheep2Shoe kit from BMFA. My uptake needs some help I think.

Summer Days of Fun
Updated, I thought I had added the photo of all of the socks and I can see now that I didn't. Oops.
We ran to the fair this morning to see what we could see!!! Just a quick trip though, I think I'll go back tomorrow to see more. All of today's pictures are courteous of my new camera, which I think I LOVE!
Lookie at the 1st place ribbon on Kim's bag!! Her own design!!
My socks received 2nd Place, which was actually a little disappointing because they had a pattern, lace even, and the other socks were plain vanilla socks, except the Rock N Weave on the far left. I can see the argyle getting a blue, but not the ones on the front row that are just plain except for the yarn colors. I'm not really upset by it, because I am so tickled that Kim got a blue ribbon!!
Ok, I think the Rock N Weave should have won something more than a 3rd! I am going to have to go back now and see which category each sock was in.
Then we headed to downtown Portland for the Oregon Brewer's Festival. Drinking beer is tiring!! Actually, I just take sips from each kind. I don't like beer too much, so a little sip to see if it's something I would even consider drinking. A lot of them were good!! Several were nasty, too hoppy, or one had a molasses and heavy alcohol flavor. I prefer the malted taste instead. We had a good time, the weather wasn't too hot, and if it did heat up, the breeze from the river cooled us off. We went yesterday afternoon, just Robert and myself, then today Kim came with us. She loves the rootbeer garden. Kids and designated drivers get free rootbeer, orange cream and vanilla cream floats. The orange cream was to die for!!
Random images from the festival.
There's a guy in a kilt there, the one in the middle of the three, with his shirt unbuttoned. I learned after the fact that my camera could have done a REALLY GOOD close up. Oh well.
This is how I learned it could do a good closeup. This was a good 8 feet away from us. It was cute watching two little brothers, probably 3 and 4 playing with their Thomas the Tank Engine trains. We still have ones like this that John adored when he was little.
No MS3 pictures or any other knitting. I have been plugging away on the knitting, but I either can't show you, or it's not very interesting. It's almost like I got stuck on this last clue for MS3. I've only gotten through 22 rows. I was too busy all last weekend into the week and finishing the week. Bad knitter!

Free for a few more months
Yesterday I had the 3rd mammogram in 6 months!! With the ultrasound!! Good grief my boob hurts. BUT, I am free for the next 6 months or until my doctor deems it necessary for my regular schedule to begin. Yearly, I think. I'm glad I took 3 ibuprofen about 1 1/2 hours before going. The technicians are so nice there, and they make you feel comfortable with the procedure. I just wish it didn't hurt so much.
Do this for yourself, (and for me) GET A MAMMOGRAM if you haven't had one and you are older than 35. Please.

Ready for Action!
Starting on Thursday, we sealed, sanded and sealed again,
any by today had this!! We did have to drive to the store where we ordered it for a replacement part. It seemed the drive shaft was for a single treadle, not a double. BUT, it meant the owner of the store could help us with the finishing touches, the oiling and the drive band.
We are set now. And we have a photo shoot tomorrow night, but other than that I can't give you any details!!

A Little Late
On Sunday I met up with a bunch of wonderful folks!! Portland Knit-Bloggers met at Knit Purl. We had a great time getting to know each other, eat wonderful cookies and brownie bites, drinking ice tea and knitting. PKB is a new group, put together by Bobbie after the Yarn Harlot was here last month. I did not take my camera so you'll have to visit some of the other blogs to see photos. Mims and Peggy have a post that lists everyone there. Monica has some photos as well as Kelly. A great time was had by all!!
I'm bored. I can't figure out what I really want to knit on right now. I want to finish my socks, but I think I have frogged them too many times to want to finish them right now. I want to work on my MS3, but I've already finished Clue 2. Hmm, maybe I should start a second one? Maybe it's the heat. It has been in the very high 90's and low 100's (Farenheit). We don't like it too much. Please send rain.

Mail Call
I am going to leave it natural and just seal it. Kim wants to spin so bad!!! I better get to the hardware store today!
Clue 2 for MS3 was finished on Saturday evening. The red thread is approximately where this second clue started. It should go straight up from there, but maybe it's the way that I pinned it.

MS3 Clue 1 Done!!
I tried finishing Clue 1 last night and just couldn't. The eyes were blurred and crossed. I had 8 rows to go. When I got up this morning, I didn't even stop to look at the MS3 messages or download the new clue. I really wanted to finish this before starting Clue 2. 100 rows of lace design took me parts of 7 days. Clue 2 is only 50 rows, thank goodness. There's just under 7 hours to sign up, she closes at midnight EST.
Since Yarn Harlot posted on her blog about MS3, there have been hundreds upon hundreds of knitters joining the fray. We may easily reach 7000 members at closing time tonight.

Finished 4th of July Socks
I finished up my 4th of July socks on Sunday evening while we watched "Return of the King." They are a bit slouchy, but I think they are fairly comfortable for being real sock weight. I told dh that I was spoiled by STR, I like the feel of it so much better.
I also finished a test knit for some anklets that are just cute!! Lacy fold-over cuff. Once I got the cuff down, the rest was basic sock.
The flu has visited our house. Robert came home with it on Thursday night in the form of a sore throat. He thought it might be strep at first, the next day it was the fever and chills and feeling like you were hit by a Mack truck. He was sick all weekend and has taken two more days this week. He is still coughing a lot!! Kim came down with it Sunday night and I woke with a sore throat and headache on Monday. We are taking it really easy this week!! Lots of knitting was getting done, then I ripped out 5 inches of two socks. I thought they were just too small. Though I'm on row 63 of MS3. This is the first clue and there are 99 rows total for this clue. The group closes on Friday, July 6 if you still want to join.
